Aako, began its journey in 2017 when partners Agui-Albert Mansilla and Asoka Stahlhofen noticed a lack of skincare products tailored to people of colour.

Frustrated by the presence of parabens and chemicals in mainstream skincare, they embarked on a mission to create a natural solution. Their experimentation led to the creation of Aako's Nourishing Crème, a powerful moisturiser rooted in shea butter and coconut oil.

The name 'Aako,' derives from Agui's mother tongue, meaning 'mother,' and symbolises the nurturing essence of femininity. Both Agui and Asoka's mothers influenced the early stages of development, playing a role in the creation of the original Nourishing Crème and Luxe Hydration Oil.
